A dorm room consists of six to twelve bunk beds in either single-sex or coed dorms. You will have access to the hostel kitchen. All beds have good quality fresh linens on real mattresses and pillows. Fresh top linens and blankets are included. Sleeping bags and sleep sheets are acceptable. Each cabin has modern commercial showers, sinks and toilets. In room phones and TV are not available in this class of accommodation. Support Mass Transit and take YARTS (not included in price) from and to the Park and then use the FREE Hybrid Shuttles to get around and see the sights! (There is a short walk from the bus stop to the Hostel, and you should have a flashlight for the evenings.)

Tour includes San Francisco Hotel pick-up (tour van has limited space for luggage, so try to keep it small!), transportation to Yosemite National Park, Yosemite Valley Tour and drop off at Yosemite Lodge, where you gain your independence, for 24 hours. The next day, meet another tour group at the same time and place, and finish the day with them and return to San Francisco. Overnight Yosemite National Park tours are a great way to spend time doing activities that our guided 1-day tours don’t have time for, such as rafting down the Merced river, bicycling around the Valley, or relaxing on an open tram tour, all at your own leisure. In winter, it is still a great time to visit. Some locations are inaccessible, but the scenery is completely different – the Valley itself is a winter waterfall wonderland. For someone willing to bundle up and wear the right shoes, and get some exercise, you will be greatly rewarded with the natural beauty, and there are times when you might feel you have the place to yourself.

Winter clothes, especially shoes or boots with rubber soles and treads, are recommended.
We will always do what we can to make your trip enjoyable, but safety is “Job 1”, so the route and itinerary may be changed due to snow depth, road conditions, construction projects and detours.
Note: The Giant Sequoias hike on the Yosemite Tour is dependent on snow levels and trail conditions from October to April.

Yosemite Two Day Tour - Day One - Times Approximate

6:00 - 7:00 AM	Pick-ups start in Fisherman's Wharf Area and continue in downtown San Francisco.
7:00 - 7:20 AM	West Oakland Bart Station pickup (if necessary).
7:20 - 7:40 AM	Dublin/Pleasanton Bart Station pickup (if necessary).
7:40 - 9:00 AM	Continuing east, see the windmills and descend into the San Joaquin valley and stop for a break and a snack.
9:15 AM - 11:00 PM	Begin the climb into the foothills, through gold country, and up into the Sierra Nevada range and Yosemite National Park.
11:00 - 1:00 PM	Explore Yosemite's many amazing sights with an informative, narrated tour from your guide. Be amazed by El Capitan, the Tunnel View, Half Dome, Yosemite Falls and more! Enjoy a mini-hike to Bridalveil Falls and plenty of photo stops around the Yosemite Valley.
1:00 - 6:00 PM	Your independence begins. Check out your options, check your bags, and check out Yosemite! And check your YARTS schedule for departure times, because you are staying outside the Park!
Evening	Check into the hostel, have a nice dinner, sit by the fireplace, relax, have a brew, and get a good night’s sleep so you can get up early for another exciting day in Yosemite.

Yosemite Two Day Tour - Day Two - Times Approximate

7:00 - 8:00 AM	Get up early, check out, grab your bag, and walk to the YARTS stop so you can get started.
9:30 AM - 1:00 PM	Check your bags at Yosemite Lodge, and spend the morning in Yosemite on your own. This is a good day to do one or 2 short hikes, like Mirror Lake or Lower Yosemite Falls. Grab a lunch, and get back to Yosemite Lodge. IMPORTANT: CALL US TOLL-FREE AT 1-866-231-3752 TO CONFIRM PICK-UP TIME AND PLACE!
1:30 - 4:00 PM	Un-check your bags and meet your new friends and new driver. Explore more of Yosemite with the group. This includes driving time to take an optional hike in the forest and see the Giant Sequoias. (May be omitted due to snow levels and trail conditions from October to April – we’ll spend more time in the Valley instead.)
4:00 - 6:00 PM	Start the return trip, descending from the Sierras, with more great scenery as we follow the sun to the west.
6:00 - 6:30 PM	Stop for a break and a bite to eat.
6:30 - 8:30 PM	Continue back to San Francisco, enjoying views of the sunset over the East Bay hills, or the Peninsula and the city lights.
8:30 - 9:00 PM	The Yosemite tour ends at your San Francisco Hotel front door.

Vehicle Safety Inspection: Safety is paramount in our industry and one of the biggest safety components in the tours we provide are our vehicles. Extranomical's fleet includes vans and mini-buses. Our vehicles are inspected constantly; first in the morning when the tour guide begins his/her day; second throughout the day the tour guide is verifying fluid levels, tire pressure and the general operation of the vehicle is monitored throughout the day. The vehicles are also inspected regularly (at least every 10,000) miles by our vehicle maintenance staff and also by independent certified mechanics during their routine maintenance. If that were not all, we also go through a thorough inspection performed by the California Highway Patrol once a year.
Tour Guide Training & Substance Abuse Testing: Our tour guides are extensively trained on both safety driving techniques and on providing an informative and interesting tour. Before being hired, we test our guides on safety driving in realistic situations around San Francisco they are also tested through an oral presentation of the material they will present to make sure that they provide a safe, knowledgeable and interesting tour.
